Research - General Information for Abhyasis

SMRTI offers two main branches for Academic Research: Theoretical and Practical.

 THEORETICAL:

The theoretical branch is opened to all.

Eligibility for Academic research: (Post graduate Research) Abhyasi or anyone with required qualification Minimum: Post graduate in humanities – Languages, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Education etc.

Project: A candidate interested in, and having good knowledge in the concerned subject can undertake a project, for a stipulated period (say one or two years).

The candidate should consult the Director, SMRTI , Research with:

• the details of topic of the proposed Project,

• duration,

• methodology to be adopted etc.

Based on the acceptance of Rev.Master, he/she can continue the work and submit the dissertations/findings. Project is not for a degree.

Publication: Monograph/comparative study or particular topic or comparative study of personalities by candidates with good academic background. For example Rev. Babuji Maharaj and Kabir.

Research Articles: Research articles can be published in leading academic journals and non-academic magazines by qualified abhyasis (members) or non abhyasis. Indian and foreign journals which publish articles on Religion, Philosophy, Mysticism, Yoga, Psychology etc. may be approached.

E.g. History of Religions, Hinduism Today, East and West, JICPR(Journal of the Indian Council for Philosophical Research), Transpersonal Psychology Journal, etc.

Book Review: Publication of SMRTI and Shri Ram Chandra Mission can be sent for review in academic/non academic journal/magazines/dailies in respective languages.

SMRTI reserves itself the choice to identify proper persons to take up this work. Initially these may be in the form of lectures and subsequently these may be published.

Funds/Fellowship: One can apply for financial assistance or Fellowship from ICPR,(Indian Council for Philosophic al Research), ICHR( Indian Council for Historical Research), ICSSR( Indian Council of Social and Scientific Research), Ford Foundation or any other Foundation, or other such Foundations in USA, Canada, Europe etc.

Three copies of the dissertation/thesis to be given to SMRTI/Shri Ram Chandra Mission library.

PRACTICAL:

Abhyasis can develop research papers articles for basic topics. Example of topics:

• Change in the behaviour of abhyasis at 1 year, 2 years, 5 years and so on.

• Why abhyasis left the Sahaj Marg practice after a few months/years Reports to be sent to Rev. Master for his comments and other such related works.
