Final Approach
I believe this path to be the lion's path, in which, we must be willing
to sacrifice, if necessary, even our spiritual evolution and continue to serve
humanity, through not only this life but perhaps for all eternity, if that
is His desire, if that is His wish and if that is the plan of Nature. If somebody
is coming here only to achieve liberation so that he may be spared of the
problem and the diseases of life, I think he should be categorised with sheep,
about which Babuji was talking all his life. I don't mean to deny that we
are here for all these things. After all, spirituality is spirituality, but
I think the ultimate goal of our human evolution should be to achieve that
wisdom, that love for the Master which will permit us to say, "Babuji, don't
worry about my Central Region or my Layavastha with you. If you want
me to stay here till the end of this Mahayuga or even the Kalpa,
I am prepared to be here to do the work for you, to emancipate the future
generations of humanity for you and thus fulfil your plans for you." So let
us not stop with these self-oriented, self-satisfying, escapist goals of spiritual
freedom, but let everyone here be prepared to work for the Master, to work
for humanity through the Master, to work for eternity through the Master.
So our goal should be to become like Him in every way, and this means to
work like Him, accept responsibility like Him and finally achieve the Mastery
that He has achieved and so culminate our spiritual endeavour by being like
Him. For this, our identification has to be so totally complete as to embrace
the Person, His work and His teaching. Such an identification alone can
be called Layavastha.
One needs Master whom one can follow, safely and surely, and reach the goal. In His mercy, He comes to us only to guide us to Himself, the true goal of spiritual endeavour. For this merciful and loving service so freely rendered to humanity in dire need of it, we worship Him and honour Him, and strive to develop a deep, Eternal Love for Him, which shall foment us on the journey to the goal. May such Divine love be ignited in the hearts of all His abhyasis. May the glow of this love act as a beacon to others aspiring to follow this path of Divine evolution. One who seeks must follow and in turn enable others to follow and thus make a chain of divine followers following the Divine Master, generation after generation, from eternity to eternity.
