The Mote and the Beam (Middle East, the Bible)

Jesus said, "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgement you pronounce, you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get.

"Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? How can you ask your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is a log in your own eye? Hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

Preprinted from The Holy Bible. 1946. Revised Standard version. Collins'Clear-type Press, London, UK.

Q: Do you judge other people? In what way?

Q: Why do you think we judge others? Does it show inner strength or weakness?

Q: Lalaji said that if you point your finger at another person, three fingers are pointing back at yourself. This is another way of saying the same thing Jesus is teaching in this parable. What should you do if you find your thoughts turning towards the judgement and criticism of others?

Q: Think about the idea that what you see in others is a reflection of yourself. How does this change your attitude to judging others?

O, Master!
Thou art the real goal of human life.
We are yet but slaves of wishes
Putting bar to our advancement,
Thou art the only God and power
To bring us up to that stage.
