Heartfulness Essay Event

Dear sisters and brothers,

In collaboration with the United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan (UNIC), Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM) has been conducting the All India Essay Writing Event for the past fourteen years. From this year onwards, the event will be known as the Heartfulness Essay Event.

The Heartfulness Essay Event is an annual essay-writing contest conducted for youth. It focuses on an aspects of development that is often overlooked in education today – the development of inner self. It provides an opportunity for youth to acknowledge, and express creatively in their own words, the importance of inner development in finding purpose, contentment and fulfilment in life.

The event is conducted in both English and Hindi languages at the national level, and in 9 regional languages at the regional level.

There are two categories:

Category 1 For students in classes 9 to 12
Word limit: 500 words.

Topic:
“The measure of intelligence is the ability to change.”
– A Nobel Laureate and Physicist

Category 2 For undergraduate and postgraduate university students below 28 years, unemployed.
Word limit: 750 words.

Topic:
“All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction.”
– Swami Vivekananda
