The Heartfulness Essay Event goes global in 2021

Dear sisters and brothers,

We are delighted to announce the launch of the Heartfulness Essay Event 2021, which goes global and fully online for the first time this year. It is being organized in partnership with the UNIC and UNESCO MGIEP.

There are two age categories for participants: Category 1 – 14 to 18 years, and Category 2 – 19 to 25 years.

The theme for both the categories is Kindness for the self, for others, and for the environment. The participants will be asked to narrate a story from their personal experience related to one or more forms of kindness.

Participants can choose to write their essay in any one of fifteen languages offered: six official languages of the United Nations, and nine Indian languages.

Participants will submit their essays directly via the website where the procedure is given.

A winner and a runner-up will be chosen in each language for both categories, and certificates of award and participation will also be given.

Functionaries and volunteers are requested to familiarize themselves with the features of the Essay Event and create teams to promote it. A presentation is attached that will help with this process, and details are also on the website. Webinars to share the strategies for promotion of the event will be held regionally.

Information leaflets and flyers are available on the website in all fifteen languages. Please download them so that you can circulate them to institutions and prospective participants.
